Best High School MSA Award
Best High School MSA Award is $500 given to the winning MSA to help support their activities. All other special awards are $500 scholarships credited to the recipient’s tuition/fees at their post-secondary institution. Each award is available for a student in Hamilton, and a student in Halton Region.
This award is presented to the Muslim Students’ Association (MSA) that has served its school community to the best of its abilities/resources and has illustrated progress in the improvement of student life at their school.

- 1 school faculty/staff reference
Achievement of Excellence
This award will be presented to students with overall excellence. Students applying should have an average of 80% or above and also be recognized for their academic and non-academic achievements. Students applying for this award should exemplify outstanding volunteerism and leadership.

Community Service Scholarship
This award will be presented to students who helped to bring about positive change in their community through their volunteer work and leadership.

- 1 reference from a community leader
Qur’an Recitation
This award will be presented to students who demonstrate excellent memorization and recitation of Juz’ Amma (30th Juz). Applicants are expected to have Juz’ Amma memorized and will have their memorization judged privately for various elements including Tajweed.
Requirements
- One Audio clip sample of verses 30-33 from Sura 83 (Al-Mutaffifeen)
- Tajweed and articulation while reading
- Individual style of reading
Journalism and Literature Scholarship
This award will be presented to students who have a passion for writing, published or otherwise. Applicants must possess a talent in creative writing and/or technical writing.
Requirements
- Resume (2 pages maximum)
- Two writing samples (preferably , however unpublished are also accepted)
- 600 word essay on the theme of our event: “Imagine. Believe. Achieve.”
- 1 school faculty/staff reference
Visual Arts Scholarship
This award will be presented to students who demonstrate a talent in drawing, painting, photography or graphic design.
Requirements

- Two samples of artwork
- An original work of art themed “Imagine. Believe. Achieve.”
Athletic Scholarship
This award will be presented to students who demonstrate outstanding achievements in athleticism.

Innovation Scholarship
This award will be presented to students who demonstrate an innovative scientific or business idea that has been implemented in a clear and practical manner. Applicants to this award should clearly illustrate original work, including scientific research projects or business proposals.
