The Most Valuable Muslim Youth Club (Al-Ihsan) Award recognizes Muslim Youth Clubs’ outstanding contributions and impact within their school communities. It celebrates the dedication, leadership, and positive influence these clubs exert within their schools and broader society. This award highlights the commitment of Muslim youth to embodying values of service, compassion, and community building in accordance with Islamic principles.

AWARD CRITERIA

The following information reflects the conditions necessary to qualify for the MSAC Al-Ihsan Award:

Club Overview 

  • Applicants must provide a 250-word paragraph outlining the mission, activities, achievements, and impact of their Muslim Youth Club (MYC) at their High School. This essay should demonstrate the club’s commitment to fostering community, promoting Islamic values, and engaging in service-oriented initiatives.

Prayer Facilities

  • Applicants should reflect on their school’s provision of consistent and operational prayer facilities, including locations for daily prayers and Jumuah (Friday) prayers, if applicable.

Social Media Presence

  • Applicants should write about their club’s social media presence, including details such as the activity level, consistency, and engagement on platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook. Applicants must provide their social media handle(s), if applicable.

Halaqat / Member Activities

  • Applicants should write a review of the frequency and consistency of Halaqat or club member activities. Evidence of these activities taking place should be provided.

School-Wide Events

  • Applicants should write about the number and quality of school-wide events organized by their club, including photos showcasing these events.

Ramadan Initiatives

  • Applicants should write about their club’s initiatives, activities, and events during the holy month of Ramadan, demonstrating their commitment to community engagement, charity, and spiritual development.

Teacher / School Appreciation

  • Applicants should write about their club’s efforts to show appreciation towards the school and its staff, particularly teachers who support the club’s activities throughout the year.

A signed reference letter from the school’s administration OR the club’s supervisor is required with each application.

Additionally, providing evidence of the club’s activism, teamwork, diversity, Shura, etc. is encouraged.
