EMAAN’s mission is to celebrate student achievements and accomplishments. We recognize junior high, senior high and post-secondary students’ excellence in all aspects of life, including academic, community service, and leadership. EMAAN was introduced to Calgary in 2004 with an objective to encourage youth in our community to seek knowledge by furthering their education, to contribute positively to society and to celebrate Muslim student achievements.
Each year, several categories of awards (trophies and medals) are presented to Junior High, Senior High and Post-Secondary students in Calgary, including:
– Graduation Awards (Grade 9, Grade 12 and Post-Secondary),
– Academic Merit Awards (students achieving Honours with Distinction), and
– Special Recognition Awards (Top Academic Student Award, Most Improved Student Award, Community Service and Youth Leadership Award, Arts Award, Athlete of the Year Award, Literature, and Journalism Award, Qur’an Memorization Award, Arabic Award, Perseverance Award, and Science Award).
The event will be composed of the following:
- Full course dinner
- Great guest speakers
- Trophies/Medals presented on stage for graduating students and special recognition recipients
- Scholarships and academic awards to top students (Grade 12)
- Door Prizes
